The product scope mainly includes electronic pressure transducers/sensors, mechanical pressure gauges, pressure switches, and high-purity pressure instruments with display, alarm or communication functions. Semiconductor pressure gauges are typically centered on ultra-high-purity products, but also include high-purity, corrosion-resistant, digital switching and industrial-grade pressure instruments used in non-UHP applications. Compared with general pressure instruments, semiconductor-grade products emphasize 316L stainless steel, electropolishing, low particle generation, low dead volume, leak tightness, corrosion resistance, fast response, clean packaging, EMC stability, compact installation and long-term drift control. Their value lies not only in pressure measurement, but also in gas-purity protection, equipment safety, process consistency and wafer-yield improvement.

The production model of semiconductor pressure gauges can be divided into three categories. The first is the UHP high-purity pressure-instrument manufacturing model, built around 316L VIM/VAR stainless steel, metal diaphragms, Bourdon tubes, VCR/face-seal interfaces, welded sealing, electropolishing, ultrasonic cleaning, clean assembly, helium leak testing, calibration and clean packaging. This model primarily serves specialty gas systems, gas cabinets, VMB/VMP and tool-level gas panels. The second is the electronic pressure transducer/sensor manufacturing model, based on MEMS piezoresistive chips, thin-film strain structures, CVD thin-film sensing elements, ASIC signal conditioning, temperature compensation, aging tests and housing integration. It is suitable for tool-level gases, liquids, cooling water, CDA/N₂ and Fab facility pressure monitoring. The third is the mechanical pressure gauge and pressure-switch manufacturing model, based on Bourdon tubes, diaphragms, contact switches, reed switches, mechanical pointers, housings, seals and corrosion-resistant wetted materials. It is suitable for local indication, safety alarm, cost-effective monitoring and backup protection.

In terms of profitability, semiconductor pressure gauges generally achieve gross margins of around 25%–45%. High-end UHP pressure transducers, UHP dual-switch pressure gauges, SEMI-compatible material products, display/self-diagnostic instruments and hazardous-area certified models may reach 40%–45%, supported by long customer qualification cycles, strict clean-manufacturing requirements and high material and failure costs. Mid-range high-purity pressure transducers, corrosion-resistant pressure gauges and digital pressure switches are typically around 30%–40%, while ordinary mechanical gauges, standardized pressure switches and price-sensitive pan-semiconductor engineering products may fall to 20%–30%. The upstream value chain includes 316L stainless steel, Hastelloy, PFA/PTFE, ceramics, glass, Bourdon tubes, diaphragms, MEMS dies, ASICs, connectors, seals and clean packaging materials. The midstream covers precision machining, welding, electropolishing, cleaning, assembly, pressure calibration, temperature compensation, leak testing, aging and reliability validation. Downstream customers include semiconductor equipment OEMs, wafer fabs, advanced packaging plants, gas-system integrators, Fab facility engineering firms, display panel fabs, photovoltaic equipment makers and high-purity chemical system suppliers. Future competition will shift from standalone pressure measurement to integrated capabilities in high-purity materials, clean manufacturing, reliability validation, rapid delivery and customer BOM qualification.

Semiconductor pressure gauges are benefiting from global fab expansion, AI computing chips, HBM, advanced packaging, regionalization of mature-node capacity and upgrades of high-purity gas systems. As tool complexity increases, etching, deposition, ion implantation, cleaning, CMP, track, thermal-processing and advanced packaging tools require more pressure-monitoring points in gas panels, gas sticks, gas boxes, chemical lines and cooling-water circuits.
