COC/COP cycloolefin polymers have excellent performance and are mainly used in optics, medical treatment, packaging, etc. Cyclic olefin polymers (COC/COP) are materials with a series of excellent properties formed by copolymerization of olefins and cycloolefins or monomerization of cycloolefins. COC is copolymerized by olefins and cycloolefin monomers, and COP is monomerized by cycloolefin monomers. It has excellent properties such as high transparency, low birefringence, good biocompatibility, and strong insulation, and is widely used in optics, packaging, medical and other fields.
In terms of consumption structure, COC/COP materials are mainly used in the optical field, accounting for 53.2%, packaging and medical fields account for 25.3% and 15.1% respectively, and other fields account for 6.4%. Optics: Cycloolefin polymers have good optical properties, high heat resistance, good dimensional stability, high transparency, low birefringence, and low dielectric loss. Medical: COC/COP has excellent water vapor barrier and biocompatibility, heat resistance, chemical resistance and extremely low protein adsorption, as well as resistance to water vapor and ultraviolet disinfection. It is currently a high-quality material in the medical field and is suitable for the manufacture of medical devices such as microtiter plates, blood reservoirs, hemodialyzers, petri dishes, prefilled syringes, pipettes and vaccine vials.
